ATI Mobility

Thread Starter
ive been using my ATI Mobility 64mb graphics in my Acer Aspire 1670 for some time now, and as i ave had a drastic upgrade in graphics on my pc, from an geforce fx 5600 to an xfx 7600gt, i was wondering is it posible to upgrade graphics in my laptop? I know it is possible in some. If not, is it wise to start atempting to oc concidering its not really possible to make any changes to the cooling system. (2 fans dragging air in from under the laptop and throwing it onto the gpu and the cpu, then out the side)

thanks

1. most laptops cannot change grahpics.
2. you can't OC a laptop because they already run really hot.

It is almost never possible to upgrade graphics in a laptop because:

1. There is limited space, and every compnent has a very specific tolerance,
2. Most laptop gpus are integrated.

Sorry but it looks like u r stuck with the stock gpu, I tried to upgrade my laptop too, so I know how you feel

Only laptops that can have the graphics upgraded are the specialty MXM PCIe graphics laptops, and they're very rare.

99% of the time this is not possible.

Yeh the only ones i have seen are from Alienware. and places like that. so u have to pay alot 2 have an upgradeable lappy. and most of the time the new 3dcard options are limited as well. and they normally cost a heaps. really 99.999999999999999999999% the best opion is to go buy a new lappy because u normally find even your CPU can't b upgraded enough. mind u if lappys could b upgraded and oced easily. i think u find most people would have laptops

Hey man, I clock the x1600 mobility in my macbook pro. I turn up the internal fans, and set it on a bytecc laptop cooler...
Works amazing.
