FX 8350 with Stock Heatsink Temps

Thread Starter
I was testing the temps on my 8350 with the stock HS and with OCCT Im getting a max of 70c CPU temp and 54c on the core temps. Does this sound normal for a stock CPU with the stock heatsink?

Those temps are only with stress testing. When playing Farcry 3 I get about 53c CPU temp and 37c on the cores. Im just trying to see if this is normal or if this CPU is running hotter then it should.

Ok, so I just went into the BIOs and put every thing back to the defult settings and ran OCCT again and now Im maxing at 64c CPU and 51c on the cores. This is now with cool n quite and all the other power saving stuff thats on by defult... Does this sound a little more normal?

So which temp do I go by??? When I say my CPU runs at____ do I go by the CPU Socket temp or the Core temp?
