Digital Storm branded "Cryo-TEC" TEC Block

-15c idle temps, looks pretty sweet. Has anyone tried asking for individual sale of these blocks? I just emailed to see for myself.

How much power would the TEC Block consume?

A lot, like 300 watts.

And you're aware you'll need a water cooling setup too?

How much heat does you CPU put out? Add 50% on top of that value.... that's the power consumption.

You also need a variable voltage PSU and to insulate your mobo/socket.

Active cooling is not for the inexperienced.
Once again...

My CPU is rated at 130w so 50% of 130 is 65 + 130 equals 195 watts. For the variable psu you're saying a AX850 wouldn't work? I'm guessing you want something like this:

I have a watercooling setup: CPU + GPU W/ Push pull 360mm and 240mm rads

Basically to make this all work. You need to know the following

1) TEC use aux psu
2) How to solder or connect the psu to the controller
3) How to make or buy a controller and connect it
4) How to insulate the socket w/ Vaseline
5) How to insulate the mobo w/ eraser and liquid electrical tape
6) How to insulate the block w/ foam and liquid electrical tape
7) HAVE A LOT OF RADS

*Warning: My setup has 5x triple radiators all with 1850rpm Gentle Typhoons and the water still gets hot (I have a quad tec direct die block)

If you can manage have fun biggrin.gif

I understand what you are saying, it's just that in digital storms systems the computer only had one 120mm, 240mm, 360mm. Not 4 360mms. What temps are you getting? I mean I feel like this TEC block isn't as powerful as yours so it doesn't require as much cooling, also I didn't see them insulate the motherboard, but then again it could have been covered up.

I am running a (single) TEC block with a 3x120 and it raised my water temps significantly over plain water cooling. Just at idle my reservoir inlet temp is 5c over ambient, measure by probe in the res. That is with the TEC duty cycle at 25% to keep the block at dew point to prevent condensation...at full tilt it will raise the water temp even more.

Already purchased a second 2x120 rad to run in line with the 3x120, and that is just for a single TEC block well under 100% duty cycle.

I'm pretty sure MindCh|l's quad tech could easily do that, and I believe he is working on a 2011 mount. http://www.overclock.net/t/1254258/quad-tec-direct-die-block-on-the-ivy-bridge-sandy-bridge-i5-3570k-and-2500k-tested

I was saying how crazy the amount of heat that's was generated from his TEC. Is that you're talking about?

I'm waiting for the LGA 2011 version eagerly!
