Think there were 2 survivors, the new guy who was doing ln2 for the first time, & the guy who spent 2 minutes insulating the board.
Still makes me laugh that my psu blew up before the board did, while the other boards were dropping like flies.

Run a test and post a screenshot of what you see right after the test is done and you are back on the desktop confused.gif

Lol, I've used 50+ msi boards in builds over the last 9 years or so, they are my favorite. Had a customer's K8 neo get nerfed by a lightning strike( killed the onboard sound ,nic and the socket broke on the other after having a huge air cooler hanging off of it for 3 years.
The ones I own I push pretty hard, ( no extreme cooling however) but they've done really well for me. I've had 2 foxconns go poof at stock voltages and a refurbed CHV that posted once then sent the psu into short curcuit protection. Took it out of the case, same deal - psu went "click" everything powered down. luckily it hurt nothing else.
Can't really blame that on ASUS though , who know's what it's history was.
Guess you don't read very many threads in the AMD motherboard forum wink.gif. Not saying you have had anything wrong, but there are a lot of people who have. And their voices against MSI seem louder than against any other manufacturer...

Still not a good comparison at all. Also, it's not "all other"... Magny-Cours is not an FX-based chip.

I think something close to 4ghz should do the trick cause thuban architecture performance scales really well with frequency

Probably. Now get one that high, I wanna see. biggrin.gif

Any hints of how much voltage It took before it went poof? What else did it take with it?
I'm curious because that's the board my 8350 is on, I've had it up to 1.74 volts without any sign of problems.

Was not a good day for the GD-80s, it happened at 1.45v but under LN2. We started benching but found out the volts were limited by the BIOS, while they were working out another BIOS and I was just overclocking memory and getting ready and it popped. I can't say too much about MSI, I have had great boards from them and others that have failed while running stock. One thing I can say, is that in my experience their RMA is top notch, so I still buy them all the time. thumb.gif
