Notebook Shopping

Thread Starter
I'm looking for a laptop/notebook that can perform the following:
Word processing
Internet surfing
Chatting
Music
Maybe a little photoshop work here and there

Looking for decent speed, running maybe 4 or 5 apps at once, preferrably 1GB.
The most gaming done on this laptop will probably be minesweeper
Don't care about HD space, even 20GB is fine (though 60GB is about standard)

10-12.1", widescreen preferred...if not, no biggie. Battery should last for at least 3 hours. No special features needed...no need for dvd burner, infared, bluetooth, and all that goody junk.

I've been reading many posts here on OC and looked into thinkpads...I like them, but looks a little ugly. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Looking to spend a little as possible, but as much as needed. Thanks.

I have to say I agree. Just don't get a black one. They come with a white charger (why, Im not sure). You can have OS X, Windows XP and now FC6 (the first distro to fully support it )

Is there a link to all that good stuff? Searching now on google. I know there are college discounts for dell, but how would I get discounts for apple?
