Okay, so I got it working but it is not stable, checked RAM settings in BIOS and it defaults to 1.6v instead of 1.5v and 9-9-9-24 instead of 10-10-10-27. But it will not run whatever I do at 1866 and all else is unstable.

The FX-8350 is terrible with RAM. You really have to research the RAM's compatibility first before you buy it. And not just series specific but CPU model. Plus there are a ton of settings to go through in that mobo!!! I know xD

That's sad, the Vishera CPU's have so much potential for massive overclocks

Well, it is stable at 1333, 9-9-9-24, and 1.5v. I guess the clock will change with the FSB when I get around to overclocking anyway. To be honest it works and I can play BF3 on ultra @ 1080p with more than 60fps so I will leave it for now and get to work on some modding, expect pictures soon.

I need any recommendations, I want 1866 memory, and I am only getting 1333 out of this. I will likely be sending it back and getting a new kit, any suggestions?

Why do you want 1866 memory so bad? I was running 1333Mhz in my 1090T rig not too long ago without any hiccups or lag in games. I upgraded to 1600Mhz when I got a great deal on 16GB about two months ago, but I saw no difference between the two speeds when I switched.

Thanks for the info, I was un aware the difference was so small. My biggest concern is how stable it will be when I overclock, if I can't post at 1600 how well will it go when I increase the fsb is my current question.
Edit: I used the asus auto overclock as a test, it did not go well...

1333mhz RAM will bottleneck your system. 1600mhz will not. 1866mhz is for guys who also do a little benchmarking.

The G.Skill Trident series run at they're advertised speeds with the FX series.

I bought a 2x8gb 1866mhz CAS 8 set for $125.

Right now I have it at 2200mhz 10-11-11-29. It's nice stuff. Not the best, I'd try to look for something that can hit 1866mhz 7-8-8-22.

But yes, my Tridents ran 100% stable at they're recommended settings of 1866mhz 8-9-9-24... I just wanted a little more biggrin.gif

Bottleneck how so? AMD systems respond better to tighter clock speeds than greater clock speed. While a greater clock speed opens up a bigger lane, where is 1333 going to bottleneck?
