Yeah, but keep in mind that sandy bridge and ivy bridge oc'ing is different and that you will generally achieve higher clocks with a sandy bridge cpu. The i7 3770k and the 2600k/2700k are fairly similar but the ivy bridge heats up more because of it's 22nm architecture (thus lower clocks).

Yes, just talking about this with my mate. They're probably like "What is overclocking?" or "Overclocking is bad" or "It's a waste of time".
Fools! Muhahahaha

Was going to try 5ghz but temps stop me from going past 48x100.My 3770k just runs hot im at 45x100 24/7 oc only using 1.2 volts and after I run prime small fft's. I'm getting 80c this is custom water x2 240mm rads. Ambient is around 22c, I've reseat the chip and used different thermal paste. Tried different blocks on the watercooling. Guess if I want lower temps delid or buy another chip. Before I had a h100 and anything past 44x100 would get to 90c. Airflow is great in my case it's just the cpu shouldn't it be about 5-8c cooler at least.

Those temps seem way to high

I've dropped pll to 1.6 seems it made a big difference ran a test for 1hour on prime 95 and max was 72c ***. Didn't think pll would drop temps 8c. ??? Tried 4.9 at 1.3volts and temps got to 83c. Sounds very strange that pll could have a huge degree difference. Pll was at 1.83 before as per stock mobo settings. Has anyone else had such a temp difference in reducing pll voltage. Cheers :-) happy with the temps for the first time I've had this chip.
