Why is the seller warranty different from Roccat's warranty? What is a seller warranty anyway? I thought it was usually just manufacturer (Roccat) that was responsible for warranty?
As far as i know, normal warranty claims are always against the seller, not the manufacturer (as long as the seller and the manufacturer are not the same person / company). In the UK the warranty is controlled by the sale of goods act. On the other hand there is something called manufacturer warranty which is optional and has to be offered voluntarily by the manufacturer. If roccat doesn't offer a manufacturer warranty there is nothing that you can do against that.

The only thing you could use to get an exchange of the faulty mouse via the seller after the one year warranty is to use the EU directive 1999/44/EG which advises a warranty period of two years. But i don't know if it is only a recommendation or if it complies with legal requirements.

Roccat does or at least did have a 2 year warranty with the product at the time of purchase which is due to expire at the end of august which complied with the said directive but with the e-mail I received they have chosen not to uphold the warranty. I'm not upset this close to the expiration of the warranty but I am a little miffed at roccats customer service in the matter as another member has recieved the same answer from roccat so my next mouse is going to be a razer mamba however I have to save for it so I'm hoping that my repaired mouse hold up long enough.

Normally the seller should. I work for chain of computer stores (repairing PC's) and sometimes the manufacturer only gives you 1 year. In that case we're forced to still give you a new piece of hardware or solve the issue for free up until 2 years as a seller.

HP even has a form for us to fill in for some products to request a 2nd year of warranty, knowing that the laws in Europe are different.

So by all legal means, if the law states you have 2 years warranty, the seller should give it to you.

Roccat sent me the same reply, telling me to go back to seller, which is Amazon UK.

On my order page on Amazon it does not have a return option anyway.

Amazon tries to make an exchange after the first 30 days hard in every country. But when you contact the customer support via mail or their support chat they will offer you an exchange @ neo

The below is pretty much the response I and Cosworth got:
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Hello XXX,

I'm sorry to hear about the hardware defect on your Kova[+]. You can exchange the Kova at Amazon, if it is still within the warranty period the shop provided you with.
An exchange via us is unfortunately not possible.

Feel free to write to me again, if anything is unclear or if you need further assistance.

Viele Grüße / Kind regards,
Tibor Fischer

The Kone XTD looks like the perfect mouse for me. I just wish it wasn't so prohibitively expensive. Even if I don't much like my current mouse I can not justify the cost of replacing it with a Kone XTD. Particularly when you consider Roccat's severely lacking RMA policies. Ninety dollars is a lot to throw away if your mouse should malfunction outside of Amazon's/NewEgg's 30-day return window. Too risky.

You have 12 months warranty?

How would a Savu fit my hand? 7 1/2" measured from the tip of my middle finger to the base of my palm.
