can you read what the bsod screen says, near the middle bottom it will say somthing like .....atikmpag.sys ...x00000016 or somthing like this.......

i did some research and found that atikmpag.sys bsods x0016 ones are related to sometype of hardware failure....im hoping its not any memory. Im thinking its either my cpu overclock became unstable overtime or my gpus are failing? whats the shelf-life on a gpu?

Im trying to figure out whats causing mine, i put my cpu overclock back to stock thinking it was my 5year overclock that was starting to fail with the voltages and stuff...will see if i get anymore bsods...mad.gif

I forget the exact text of the BSOD but I know for certain it was pointing at the display driver. I can also confirm my hardware is good, even with both cards overclocked, I can run Furmark for over 24 hours, and I have been running folding at home 100% 24/7 on both cards while overclocked for the past like 4-6 months (whenever the cards came out). The only time I ever have issues is if I update to a driver past 12.3, I also have the same issue on another system with an AMD 5870 card, it will crash in games if using any drivers past 12.3.

Not 100% sure on the shelf life of a GPU but even my 4870s still work when I use them from time to time for troubleshooting. Sorry to hear about your overclock becoming unstable =(

Dont think it was my overclock, i have put my i7 940 back to stock 2.93 ghz ..and have gotten the error again....

I have now uninstalled CCC software drivers, booted into safe mode and used driver sweeper, got rid of all ATI stuff. Rebooted and did fresh install of of ati drivers, lets see how it works out....

For anyone who stumbles onto this thread, I resolved the issue by uninstalling my audio drivers and disabling my on board audio in the the BIOS of my motherboard. This is a temporary fix but at least I know what caused the problem so now I can look into a better solution.
