That's what I was basing my very amateur hypothesis on, but I don't know much quantum physics, so it could possibly be explained in some other way.

I'm skeptical. Gravity is a recurring force right? which means it doesn't travel. Only the things around it travel such as particles and atoms. Idk maybe im wrong. Acceleration and gravity are 2 different things though right? Like acceleration is force and mas pertaining to gravity whereas gravity is the constant. If they can break a gravity barrier or something i'd believe it but it sounds like crap.

Light can't escape a black hole not because because it can't out run gravity, it can't escape a blackhole because within the event horizon space is warped in such a way that no paths lead away from the black hole.

As far as I know, no confirmed phenomena require gravity be transmitted faster than the speed of light to function.

What do you mean by "recurring force", and why wouldn't it travel?

Magnetic fields do not propagate faster than the speed of light either.

We know the force of push travels at the speed of sound. I think this is just implying if you instantiated an object in space you would feel it as soon as you could see it.

If gravity does indeed travel at the speed of light, why is it it takes time for an apple to hit the ground, rather than be instant? Hmmm....

Which would lead me to ask, how did isaac newton live to contemplate gravity in the 1st place, since the force of that apple that hit him on the head would have killed him since it's mass would be infinately large.

Gravity is a force. They are talking the speed of propagation of gravity, not the acceleration it exerts on objects.

Forgive me but most of us were taught to think of gravity as the acceleration it exerts on mass.

The propagation of gravity is something neither i or many others have even been aware of. Even the thread and the article are titled in such a way to say "Gravity travels at the speed of light" not the propagation....which is later mentioned in the article. It's completely ass about face.....lol
