Just the sine of the angle between the road and the horizon multiplied with 9.81 would be the additional acceleration you get, simple as that.

Also note, their results indicate that the speed maybe slightly slower or faster than speed of light/information.

Slightly slower implies that gravity itself has mass which is confusing. Slightly slower would mean that for practical purposes if the sun disappeared we'd lose light at virtually the same time as we lose orbit.
