Hi,
Seeming as this is such a normal build you would think it's not worth doing a build log right? For me this thread is about me showing you my first build and i may be doing a time lapse of the complete assembly (if the camera isn't too much in the way!).

PARTS:
Case: CoolerMaster HAF 912
Processor: i5-3570K
Motherboard: GA-Z77-D3H
RAM: 8Gb Corsair Vengeance Low Profile CL9
SSD: SanDisk Extreme Edition 120Gb
DVD drive: IDE to SATA adapter to attach my old DVD drive and to get data off the old HDD.
Cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo

Final bits Photo:

Final build components

Final Front Photo:

A final edited front computer photo

If there's anything i should add to this top thread can you please say so below.
Thanks,
Chris.

Hopefully the cable management will be better when the motherboard is installed because all of the leads will have something to plug into! The earthing mat is just off eBay (link(UK)). I will eventually replace the 8800GT but as I'm spending all my money on this and the 8800GT is ok for most games that i play i will not be upgrading till summer...

I have now received the i5-3570K so we will build tonight. I will film the build and hopefully create a time lapse video of me putting it all together.

Question:
All the "how to build a computer" video's out there say to put your motherboard on a non-conductive surface. If I'm going to be working on a ESD mat that is slightly conductive, will it harm the motherboard. I guess the mat is highly resistive though so that will probably be why... Anyway, i don't see how constructing on a conductive surface can harm it at ALL. What is everyone's opinion on that.
