Anyway, i don't see how constructing on a conductive surface can harm it at ALL. What is everyone's opinion on that.
I personally have built many computers and never used any anti-static 'tools'. That's not to say they are useless... but they are like a seatbelt... rarely needed until you 'need' them. Just be smart about what you're doing, and don't walk around in socks on carpet before working on your build wink.gif Also, touching a door handle prior to working will also help discharge any static build-up.

Good luck on your first build! Beware... it can become addicting... I stave my addiction by putting together builds on NewEgg, dreaming about clicking 'Checkout'... and then emptying my cart frown.gif

I've built it now! I'm typing this on my new rig! Unfortunately my 8800GT managed to be damaged in the process and it now screams horrifically every time i turn my computer on with the card in. But i will start a new thread for that.
EDIT: Forgot to plug in the PCIe power connector doh.gif

Here's some benchmarks:
ASSSD:
ASSSD benchmark
RealTemp after 2 runs of IBT. This is not meant as a stability test but of temperatures. I will run P95 and IBT for longer to test stability.
Real temp after running two runs of IBT

Can someone please comment on if these readings are good. I think i may have not done my thermal paste right frown.gif

They look fine to me. I've never used IBT though so I can't compare... but your max temps are a ways off from TJ Max (by more than 25c). I would look for other rigs using the same heatsink and processor as you are, and compare. If they have significantly different temps, you might look to see if they're using a different thermal paste than you, have de-lidded, or if their cooling setup is significantly different in some way... but at first glance, the temps above are perfectly normal and safe operating temperatures.

Does anyone else have anything to contribute to their temps with an i5-3570K on a hyper 212 evo. Also i would like to know how my SSD values are doing. Seems to be fine so far except for the 200mm fan in the front of the haf 912 is off balance so i will have to send the fan back to CM frown.gif It was working fine until the fan started vibrating and making noises. Well SOMETHING had to go wrong for a first build tongue.gif

I have found that Prime95 never gets my temperatures above 70C but IntelBurnTest gets my temperatures up to about 80C when running. Admittedly this is after running prime 95 for about 2 mins so maybe i should wait for some larger tests as i am running in blend. I will run overnight to see what happens.
