Upgrading Asstistance

Hello!
I recently received an HP p7-1240 for my birthday in September. It has served me well for the past months, running any game I throw at it on high or nearly there. But then I got Battlefield 3 for Christmas and it can only run it on med-low settings. I got a few extra bucks from the holidays so I could get some new parts for it, But since it uses an APU, I was wondering if I could even do anything without replacing the whole mobo/processer/graphics card setup.

The specs are as follows:
Processor: 3.4 GHz A-Series Eight-Core A10-5700
RAM: 10 DDR3
Hard Drive: 1 TB SATA
Graphics Coprocessor: AMD Radeon HD 7660D
Motherboard: MSI MS-7778 (Jasmine)
It can run PCI Express x16 (2.0) graphics cards.

My first thought was to get new RAM or an SSD, but what do you guys think? I really want to give it a major overhaul and have enough money to do so, but I just need to be steered in the right direction. Should I just get a new motherboard and GPU and CPU, or get some new ram and an SSD or both?
Also, would upgrading to windows 8 make any difference? I have win 7 HE 64-bit.

Any and all input is appreciated. I am have some experience in upgrading, so If you point out one or two specific products, I can find more.

Thanks,

You are good on memory,it really would not make a difference. As for adding an ssd,all you would see is an increase in boot and loading times, but game play.

I would suggest a new gpu,

Great video card. I assume I would need to get a new PSU. Does the fact that I have a smaller case limit my PSU options? And would I need more fans/liquid cooling?

Thanks,

If the case is a slim case(3-5 inches wide) then your psu choice are limited.
