I have to use CPUID software monitor and it states my CPUTIN idles around 44-46C even with the fans on extreme. And since it cannot detect my cpu temps it can't automatically control the fans. Before I installed it I cleaned both the waterblock and my FX-6100 with ISO alcohol, I then applied some arctic silver 5 thermal compound to the cpu itself. I still can't figure why my temps aren't registered by the program and why I am getting such bad temps in the first place. Also every one and a while I hear what sounds like a tiny bit of air being pumped through.

Ive been playing SimCity on and off and my temps stay around 30-36c
Fan speed stays around 1000-1200rpm

Im happy with mine. A lot quieter then the stock cpu fan i had in my previous comp. Are you sure your fan wires are connected correctly?

I have the usb header connected, the 3-pin fan header connected, and the sata power cable connected as well, so everything is connected. I don't know if that's too much connected or what else I ham suppose to do to get it to register temps.

Sounds like its all connected right. Idk. Only thing I can recommend is changes the USB header to a diff spot on the mobo

Just got one of these. Should I mess with the stock TIM or just take it off and use mx-4?

I took mine off and applied AS5. I am sure the aftermarket stuff is slightly better, but not by much.

So I've been using this liquid cooler and I must say, its awesome!
@MyFaceHole, I seem to be experiencing similar problems, for the record I do have everything connect and I am running it fully stock at the moment meaning only the two fans that came with it, the default Thermal Paste Compound that was pre-applied to it and everything is plugged in where is suppose to be.

I do have a couple of questions...

1) I connected the pump to the CPU fan connector on the mobo so that it automatically adjusts the speeds by itself depending on what I'm doing, now 90% of the time, my CPU is marked at 15-22 (on my X79 FTW) when I check the NZXT control panel the Fan speed is at 0 (IT NEVER CHANGES!) and the pump at 3000-3100, all 4 of my CPU cores are ranging from 27-31 c, so what I'm wondering is this a normal behavior?

2) If the above is normal, I'm planning on purchasing 2 extra fans to use push/pull configuration, I'm currently using the fans that came with the X60 and the fans I'm planning on getting are the quiet edition of Corsair (so since 90% of the time my fans are at the bear minimum speed I'm getting these for looks other than performance) When the fans are set to for example 50%, would it be 50% of the 2000rpm fans or 50% of the capability of the connected fan? How will NZXT control panel display fan speeds if 2 fans can go up to 2000 rpm and the other 2 only to 1350 (or whatever it was)?

If you're going to use another TIM, I highly recommend Prolimatech's PK1 Nano. Actually, I use nothing else on my personal builds. Best TIM out there, save for Indigo Extreme but who the hell wants to mess with applying that stuff? Not this guy!

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, but does NZXT have a similar warranty in place like Corsair's regarding leaks? I know Corsair deal's with that on a case by case basis but anything from NZXT would definitely give me more piece of mind.

EDIT-

Nevermind. I came across a few posts saying their warranty is similar. That said i'm waiting for my x60 now!

Do you think those corsair 140mm fans are better than the nzxt fans?

Aren't those particular 140s meant for air cooling? They are high airflow, but low static pressure.

Yes...it was more for aesthetics and silence than performance. Anyways, my Kraken is back in its box in my closet. Went back to my phanteks much quieter :-)
