First off...what's with the backplate??? I've screwed (or snapped) every possible combination and it still doesn't line up with the motherboard (Asus Z87-Pro). I had to reaaalllyyyy bend it to get all 4 holes to go through.
Number two - Do i use the longer threaded screws or the shorter ones for 1155/1150? None of the bags are labeled so i can't tell. I'm assuming the bags were supposed to be.
Number three - Should i be plugging the small 4-pin connector (NOT the one that's connected with all the wire plugs) into the main CPU fan header on the motherboard?
Number four - Why do all the fan plugs look weird? It's not a typical 3-pin or 4-pin plug. It has two pins, then skips a pin, then one pin at the end. What the hell fan am i supposed to connect to that? Or should i just plug a 3-pin fan into a 2-pin connector and leave the extra pin alone?
If anyone can provide answers that would be greatly appreciated. I thought i might have gotten X40 hardware but it's probably mostly the same and also unlikely...thank you for your time! -Jeff
1 - I remember the backplate being labeled, but the text is tiny and you have to llok closely for it.
2. - The longer screws. As shown in the manual, the shorter are for 2011 only
3 - Do you mean the USB cable?
4 - The fans plug into the male fan leads off the pump. The female fan lead plugs into a MB 3-pin fan header.
