this build is my christmas present for this year I have been planning this out since november and I am happy to finally be able to start building this thing. my main goal is to create a fast workstation that will also perform well while folding and gaming on my spare time so here's my parts list:
Core i7-3930K
Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4
16GB G. Skill Ares DDR3-1866 CL9
MSI Radeon 6950 (unlocked reference card)
assorted old drives in raid 0
OCZ ZT-650W
DVD/CD combo drive
Corsair C70 gunmetal black
Corsair H100 cooler
4x corsair SP120 fans
6x blue led silenx case fans
sunbeam fan controller
blue led strips
Have you bought any of these pieces? If not, I'd recommend switching the GPU out for a newer one, perhaps a Keplar or 7xxx series card. If not, it'll still be an awesome build.
Hey u gave me a good deal i dont regret buying the card and it does what i need it to do and btw got my mobo like an hour ago so here it is it supports quad sli and it has a bijillion sata ports it was pretty cheap too only $260
The psu runs great although its a little bit of a stretch to get the 8 pin cable up to the top of my mobo when run through behind the mobo tray. im happy with it and i got it for only $70 new runs cool, no issues, fully modular
