Help a brotha :) 7870 XT Crossfire or 7970 Lightning ?

So, i have a "restricted" budget for my new graphic card.
The budget allows me to buy a MSI 7970 Ligthning ( from a friend, it's new, for 399 Euro ) or ... get 2 x 7870 XT cards ( the new 7870's with the Tahiti LE gpu ) . They will run for the same amount of money, giving or taking a few euros.

So, i will use 1920x1200 monitor, with a FX 8350.

What's your thoughts? Main use, gaming.

If you can dont get in trouble with 2 gpus. Get the 7970

Yeah, i was leaning towards the 7970 Lightning too .. but at the same time.. i was kind of confused on what to do since the 7870 XT cards look really interesting.

7970 lightning is a beast. General its better to get better single gpu when you can. 2-gpu setups have some problems

OP for a 1200p monitor get a HD 7950 boost. 925 mhz boost. stock voltage of 1.25v. easily overclocks to 1100 - 1150 mhz to match or exceed HD 7970 Ghz performance. best price perf high end GPU. the sapphire hd 7950 boost for 280 euros is a very good deal. good cooler.

if you want to spend more the HD 7970 lightning is a good card. try and get it for 350 - 370. thumb.gif

7870XT will definitely give you a higher FPS, but more stutter.
7970 will have less stutter, but less FPS.

You can reduce stuttering by using a tool called RadeonPro, it has a feature called dynamic V-Sync which reduces a lot of stutter.

Personally I went with the 7970.
