GTX 460 in 2013 - Page 2

Thank you for so many replies and suggestions! smile.gif

I may be able to get my hands on a used GTX 580 for under £200, would this be a worthwhile option? Bearing in mind that I wouldn't want to upgrade for 2-3 years after.

Thanks again! biggrin.gif

if you want to keep the card for 2 - 3 years get a HD 7950 boost or HD 7950 OC. matches GTX 670 at stock. performs even better at stock with power control at +20%. clock for clock HD 7950 is 3 - 6% slower than HD 7970. HD 7950 at 1100 Mhz matches HD 7970 Ghz at 1050 mhz.

If you are going to spend that amount on a 580 you'd probably want to go with the current gen nVidia 6xx or AMD 7xxx, raghu78 has posted some links to some 7950's. On the green team you are looking at 660ti's and possibly 670's

With SLI 460's at stock clocks you match a 580 in performance barring the vRAM issues. I honesly woulden't spend 200 pounds on a last gen card when current gen is only a slight price diff away and nets you better performance

Either find a used 460 for 70 pounds (? not sure of the prices) or go current gen

Thanks for all of the comments and suggestions. +1 Rep!

I ended up getting an Asus GTX 580 DCII for £165 which I think is a good deal! Big performance increase over my existing GTX 460!

Thanks everyone!
