The a few months later model B revision 2 came out with more ram and also an additional mounting point.

As far as your actual question, though, your miles may vary. Kingston and Sandisk make pretty good products from what I've observed but at the end of the day you'll still hit that read/write cap.
cheers for the info started using the usb so only boot with the sd heard it makes it faster still dont see no difference gonna try your advise on migrating the os

Hey lads,

I ordered my Pi a few days ago. Should arrive hopefully tomorrow.
It's a model B and I will be turning it into an XBMC Media Center.
Has anyone here done the same? What are your thoughts so far?

Can't wait !!! Should be lots of fun. biggrin.gif

I tried putting PiMAME and XBMC together as well with no success whatsoever. tongue.gif Gonna have to flash XBMC to a blank card.

Supposedly it isn't bad but don't expect 1080p video to work well. 720p seems to be the best it can churn out.

have problems playing 1080p h264 videos with reasonable framerates.

Well, no harm in giving it a shot at least, I will be myself when life stops being an arse. I've seen several videos though of folks only getting about 15fps.
