Exciting Not that I'm going to get one, but it'll be fun to see what AMD is up to.

exactly i hope that this is what they have been working on the whole time Intel has had the C2D out. i think if this doesn't get better than what intel has out then AMD is in trouble.... they got too comfortable with what they had and it's the same mistake intel made that let AMD get ahead.

All of their lower end X2, A64, and Sempron chips will make the jump to 65nm first. I'm sure this has to do with tweaking the manufacturing process and getting better yields and experience before migrating the rest of the lines over. The FX and Optys will stay on 90nm for a while. I'm sure this has to do with having better yeilds and having better confidence in their 90nm process than their new 65nm. This first batch of 65nm chips probably won't OC too well. The chips coming in Q1 or Q2 '07 will probably hit way better speeds (hopefully).

"Agena FX and Agena based processors offer identical features. New to the Agena FX and Agena cores is a shared L3 cache. 2MB of L3 cache will be shared between all four processor cores. The L2 cache will be 2MB as well. Clock frequencies of 2.7 GHz to 2.9 GHz are initially expected. The HyperTransport 3.0 frequency for Agena FX and Agena cores is expected to be clocked at 4000 MHz. Agena FX and Agena core processors will be manufacturing using a 65nm process and carry 125W TDPs. The first Agena FX and Agena based processors are expected to arrive in Q3’2007."

LOL that has to be the worst source of news I've ever seen. If it's true, good job AMD, it's about time... I honestly thought Intel would be selling 45nm chips right after AMD released 65nm. Now they need quad core.
