Fps problems with the Sappire Vapor-X HD 7950 OC with boost

Thread Starter
I OC'ed my card using the CCC utility and even rolled back from Cat 12.11 to 12.9. Unfortunately my fps almost never tops 30 fps in any games. For example, some of the games I am referring to are Sleeping Dogs, Hitman:Absolution, Arma: II, Minecraft, Metro 2033, C: Midieval Warfare among others. The only game where i have really topped 30 is Metro and MW3. Most confusing of these is Arma 2 which never tops 20 fps. This is a new built system and it is really irritating to me to have this issue.mad.gif

Changing the settings doesn't really do too much and I doubt that it could be CPU bottle-necking.

Any suggestions guys?

Thanks,

Brett

Also, my score on 3dmark 11 was only P5358
Graphics- 8134 Physics- 2898 combined - 2345

Is this something I should expect?

Graphics score sounds right about what it should be for 3dmark11

please fill out your rig info so that we might be able to help troubleshoot better

@trulsrohk I thought I had already put my rig in but I guess it's not showing up.

@raghu78 my cpu is an AMD 1090T and I have a Corsair CX750 with the +12v at 62 amps.

A few of those games are very CPU intensive so I could see that being an issue particularly if your CPU isn't overclocked at all, but things like minecraft?

I have no idea why that wouldn't be pushing past 30 fps

His gpu score on 3d mark is fine. I imagine his cpu is holding him back. But even 30 fps? Thats way low.

Op what is your resolution?

My resolution is 1920 x 1080 on one monitor and 1600 x 900 on the other.

I use the 1920 x 1080 for gaming, also I doubt it could be a cpu bottleneck because i've been monitoring while I play and haven't even topped 80% cpu usage

Do you think I might need to RMA

Are you running anything that uses hardware acceleration in the background?
