Thick TV's are indeed cool and feel premium.

You're the only person who says that thick TV's are cool and feel premium.
Thin HDTV's are the most premium and expensive and also the most energy efficient and best looking.
Thinner TV's with no bezels are the best. This is why most manufacturers are racing towards a thinner panel with more features, better image quality and superior contrast ratios while decreasing the bezel size.
