They were simply just watered-down pc's and most people hate using pc's much less an underpowered one.

Successful devices either do something we couldn't do without or are easy to use and make our life easier. A netbook really did neither.
hate using pc`s ummmmmm.... i think your on the wrong site ??? pc gaming for example is best way to game? your doig it wrong mate

I don't like tablets because of their touchscreen keyboards. I type 75WPM on average...I want a keyboard dammit!

He said people, not himself. And I understand where he's coming from. A lot of people these days would rather use a smartphone or tablet for the majority of their internet needs (i.e. Facebook, etc).

You guys have just been using the wrong netbook.
I have a netbook with an amd c-50 on it, and I can watch hd video fine.

I've even programmed on it and played light league of legends lol

When Netbooks were in their, shall I say, 'prime', they featured Atom CPU's, and the C50 and C70 APU chipsets were non-existent.

Still use mine in class for taking notes, network trouble shooting, etc...But it is, what it is...And it would be cool to throw an ssd in it, maybe when they're a little cheaper..Love running ubuntu on it smile.gif

A netbook isn't meant to have such specs. Hence the name NETbook, it is meant for basic NETwork or InterNET activities.

Even then, you wouldn't need 16GB for gaming, plain and simple there, few even need 8GB for gaming. And even if you were to get that and i7, would you really want to be gaming ( in the least bit competitive type of game that would warrant such specs ) on a 10 inch screen?

As for casual games, most play just fine on most netbooks, at least in my experience with them.

You didn't sense my sarcasm.
I know what a NETbook is for.
They were talking the piss out of my macbook pro saying it was the same thing, after some div came up to me and asked if my Mac was a NETNETNETbook.
ok?
