Operation UltraBudget-PC: Let's build a PC that anyone can afford!

The idea behind this one is to have ultra-low cost and performance that is good enough for web browsing, listening to music, watching SD movies, and such. Again, hypothetical. Or it could be used as a high-deployment low cost PC for the impoverished.
Operating System will be Ubuntu 12.10
I do not feel like listing out all the components, so here they are at a PCPartPicker organized location:

If I was you I would change the PSU to something like this at least.

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/antec-power-supply-vp350

That SSD is dirt cheap , eek.gif

Also wondering why your getting a full ATX case with the MATX MB ? You could go smaller if you wanted.

LOL. The MATX case was more expensive. And the current PSU is higher wattage anyways. Are you suggesting there may be a problem with build quality or reliability? If so, I will gladly choose your suggestion. I am going to trim this build a bit, as the average web browsing person does not need a soundcard or videocard. And me too on the SSD, it was cheaper than a hard drive with the same amount of storage!

Yes mate , that Antec is much better and has much better efficiency.
A lot of cheaper PSU manufactures lie about the specs , that one would be lucky to put out 300w if it didn´t fry your system first.

Your whole build will be lucky if it draws 100w

As for the case have a look at the 360 I´m using it and can recommend it , descent ventilation and it´s cheaper.

Updated to include all new part suggestions, still looking for those that could lower price and gain or keep stability and longevity.

So true, I have a 300W PSU that clearly states that the maximum output summed over all the various outputs is less than 200W mad.gif

Not sure what to think of this. No two users have exactly the same needs, so wanting to build a "universal" low-budget PC seems silly to me.

For example, some might be better served with an A4-5300. There's no need to generalise.

True, true, which is why I am open to part suggestions. I want this to be a one-size-fits-most, not a one-size-fits-all, as I know it is impossible.
