Proof that they cheated? Im sorry, but you don't think its a tad suspicious that they only driver update to give such massive FPS increase making the 7970 undisputed, also suddenly has really bad latency issues?

How can you care about the issue anyway, you don't even have AMD GPU doh.gif .

Let's bash to bash against the company you don't own. rolleyes.gif

I'm pretty happy they admit A mistake on a BETA driver. Yes I hate the stutter, but they are working on it. Next driver will be even BETTER. Always getting better and better since their new method.

Not much LN2 people here so not sure where your getting the argument, and either way who cares? AMD has cheated its way to the top FPS hill and got caught. Whats the problem?
I remember all this bashing that was going on about the reviewer being "biased" and full of it. rolleyes.gif

Did you took it personnally that the brand you own was loosing?

All I know after reading through this mess of a thread is that I'm glad I can see absolutely no stutter or difference in any of the cards I've owned, Nvidia or AMD. My oc'ed 480 is no smoother than my 7970 and vice versa, and if there is stutter I guess I can i'm thankful for not having the eyes of a a hawk for a change. And you know what? I'll take the higher FPS in this case, even if there is a claimed stutter that I'll never see biggrin.gif

On the flip side, I'd take 40fps over 30fps, even if there is this supposed 'stutter'. 10fps is a lot more noticable thumb.gif

Until AMD is the one leading the discrete gpu market, Nvidia is not losing. The 7000 series has changed nothing in regards to market share.

It will be interesting to see if the fps AMD found will suddenly disappear once the stutter is gone. I don't believe it will.

So as I thought, no real proof. Just a suspicion that I think you would really like to be true. Nasty AMD! Bad AMD! Not at all like glorious, godlike, faultless nVidia!
And no, I don't think it is at all suspicious that a BETA driver had an issue. Let's face it, it is a learning experience for everyone. Now we know what to look for I think the driver team will take pains to test that out before releasing it.

Still feels like they tried to pull a fast one, to be honest. It improved frameworks and screwed frametimes, and it's apparently not the first time this has happened in the GPU arena.

That's hilarious considering the amount of sour grapes in this and the other thread from AMD guys regarding this issue rolleyes.gif

80MHz is on top of the factory overclocking and doesn't account for the boost clocks. And 4-500MHz on the memory is huge!
I haven't seen any posts about these cards dying, to be honest, even in the unlocked bios thread.
Haven't seen any burning up. Poor excuse to claim NVidia is serving up inferior products.

why replace a eeprom, just reprogram it in place,

When you poke nerds with sticks, they get just as angry as grizzly bears.

But instead of tearing you apart with their claws and teeth, they just throw pocket protectors at you.

Sorry but where have you been all year? The 7970 was always faster than the 680 when OC'd even before 12.11 and the GHz edition. BF3 was the major game that the 680's beat the 7970's in and that's where 12.11 helped. By the way, how come there haven't been any fancy frame latency graphs showcasing that game?
