Woe is me...my PC is DEAD! - Page 6

I'd go out to best buy and get a 256mb stick of ram...then return it when you determine if it's the mobo or the ram.

RAM is a lot cheaper (stable ram, slow nonetheless) and easier to install than a new mobo.

EDIT: BTW, I'd put my money on the mobo going haywire, simply because it's so big...so many places that could've been fried...

Yes. I'm running my 6400 at stock still (2.13ghz) and it rocks in games. It's better than my 660 overclocked to 4050mhz. I have no problems maxing out BF2 or counterstrike source. I'm running everything at stock too. I fold on both cores while gaming as well. If this means anything to you, with CS:S maxed out at 1440x900, I get 170fps in the stress test, stock cpu/gpu/ram.

Which hurts your eyes

Nice Sli I had dual 7800GTX's but they went to my son with my ASUS A8N32-Sli and Opty 170. Now it's back to a single card solution for me

Sorry for the hijack guys, just bypass these posts if you are not concerned with them

Well....good news first. I am POSTING this on my Allendale rig.

Bad news.....it's my beloved G.Skill....

I took both sticks of 512 out of the yellow slots, and put one in the top black slot. Installed right up, no issues at all. Now, I'm about to go and swap in the other 512 in the same slot, if THAT works, then I'm going to run both in the black slots for Dual Channel, make sure it's stable. If I get that far, I'm going to go BACK to the yellow slots. So it's either the ram or the dimm slots..I've figured this much out. Wish me luck fella's!

But first, I'm off to download video drivers so it's not such a pain to navigate
