[Build Log] Bitfenix Prodigy - Page 12

OK so its a little later than later today tongue.gif. I love the feel of the paracord and its NOTHING like the tight weave sleeving I got from moddiy.com. Its a world of a difference and much cheaper than what I paid biggrin.gif. I will be getting my Prodigy up and running tomorrow. It will be nowhere near 100% complete but it will be capable of running and doing what I need it to do with no problems. I even decided to put my new power switches on the front of my case in the bay drive. I sanded out two 20mm holes for the switches and it actually looks decent. I should have put them on top of my case but this actually looks good biggrin.gif I will follow up with pics in the next couple of days thumb.gif

Do you have any plans on cable lengths?

Yeah I would definitely not recommend anything over 30cm otherwise its overkill and you will struggle to tuck them away. What are you waiting on? Hurry and get a case biggrin.gif

I don't know, I should just buy it ... but I have to wait and see if some things will sell on eBay first. 2 more days...

OK Kiddies!!! MOAR updates thumb.gif OK as of last night February 2nd 2013, the Fortress of Solitude is up and running. It is NOWHERE near to where I want it tongue.gif I got sick of looking at my desk like it is a junk yard. Everything kept piling up on it and I literally ran out of room. So I started selling off my gaming rig by the piece and last night and I unplugged the wiry mess that it was. Crap... I should have taken pics. I spent hours before that putting what I could into the FoS to get it running. It looks like crap but I have plans wink.gif I spent nearly until 10pm EST last night getting it all hooked up and Win7 64bit installed, Whew I was exhausted last night and I still am today frown.gif

How about that biggrin.gif I got everything installed today (software wise) and running and began cleaning up, boxing up items to ship out and organizing. I still have a bit more organizing to do BUT anyways here is whats left for the FoS. And no--do not ask. It will not need a womans touch tongue.gif. HAHAHA OK so I have more paracord coming in since the 20ft I ordered isnt nearly enough as the 40ft as needed. Audioholic will be sleeving the cables in white paracord for me (I love how it looks and feels--the paracord that is tongue.gif) I also instend on rewiring the whole case. It isnt bad but it does need a bit of work! I understand some cables will be seen but not all of them will biggrin.gif

Currently the LED's that are running are nice, granted but not nearly as Bright as I want them to be. I still do intend on installing the LED's I got from Tom (modelersbrand)

Another thing I want to do is create the logo I have been using for this theme and put it on acrylic to replace the Bitfenix logo upfront. Can someone do that for me? The acrylic is 1/8 inch thick and I could provide the rest of the Dimensions done in white.

I have 3 x 2TB harddrives in my system. One as a back up for it all, others will serve as storage for movies, music, TV shows and files and the 3rd drive will be for Steam, Origin and other games I have or want. And yes I have the SSD which is a Crucial 128gb. I have a few more programs to install with 68gb of space left so I am all set!

After some consideration, I think I will remove that 5.25 bay holder. I have nothing in it and it isnt being used so its gone! Well it isnt gone yet but it will be when I get the white wiring and sleeving done and I rebuild the case from the inside out to make it more of a Fortress and less of an organized mess biggrin.gif. Hopefully I will be getting my panels this week as the loudest thing in my case is the video card fans tongue.gif Stay tuned to this channel for more updates thumb.gif

Hey I am trying to think of "creative" ways of masking the harddrives in white to keep with my theme. Any thoughts or suggestions? Lets make this interesting. HMMMM:headscrat Lets get some ideas on how to cover them up while looking good. Starting today, I want ideas and at the end of the week, I will take those ideas I got from submissions and we will do a poll. We will put the submissions to a vote and whoever idea is chosen by popular demand will get a $25 gift card to a place of their choice thumb.gif It isnt much but its the best I can do biggrin.gif Lets get it started!!!

Are both sides of the PC innards going to be visible or just one side?

The GPU side will have a standard window where the perforated holes are. The other panel will have the logo I want for the front. See the pics below:

Teh Rav3n is working on them and they should be done and I should have them this week biggrin.gif He has done excellent work on them so far just from the pics above thumb.gif Errr I should state only the motherboard area should be visible but if someone wants to see the inside then I would have a reason to cover the harddrives
