Here is to hoping the flex/dual fan 7870 will work wonders cheers.gif
EDIT:
Wow, now I really want it the Sapphire version...
http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviews/1651/pg1/sapphire-hd-7870-xt-with-boost-tahiti-le-graphics-card-review-introduction.html

I'm confused what about that review makes you want it more than before. I was hoping for some actual numbers when it came to noise. The temperatures are definitely good but the Myst version didn't seem to reach any unhealthy temperatures.

Though I probably shouldn't be worried about noise, I'm sure 2 GTX 460's are louder than this single card.

Don't get me wrong, I wanted it more than the PowerColor 7870 Myst I bought. But man that waiting game was killing me ( I am guessing you too) with those game codes going out of stock and the newegg V.me promo. Got the Myst for $240 myself with FC3 code, and $20 MIR also if I chose to keep it.

I really shouldn't be bashing the card for that fan noise. I should say I personally was not happy with it.

Once again, I am probably just too anal about noise. My last card was a radial GTX 275 and that card only made some wind noise. I am not a video card reviewer, with a decibel meter. I also could of had a faulty whining fan. It was my first axial fan of that noise though, and I did have a 4870 Toxic that was axial but only made the obvious wind noise and nothing like the myst.

What I did like was the fact that he did the whole review with the video card overclocked. Saying the video card was "very quiet" is something he did not say with the powercolor card. Looks like he pushed that card quite hard too, 1285/1760.

Edit: Not winning any awards anytime soon on being grammatically correct tongue.gif

The Sapphire overclocked much better for hardwareheaven.com than the Powercolor. It also doesn't mention whether all tests were done with the Powercolor overclocked like it did for the Sapphire review. Nonetheless it seems the Sapphire might offer better performance and I'll give it another week to release in U.S. markets.

That memory overclock is night and day from what others were getting with the TUL cards. I myself got artifacts at 1575 roughly (Myst).

I really hope the price is close too, if not the same as the myst. Worries me seeing the 7870Ghz costing $260 before rebate. 7950 Flex is $300 before rebate. Won't be much incentive for me if its only $20 cheaper than a 7950.

EDIT: Spoke to soon.

Of course I'm out and it actually drops. Did you get one? It's OOS now.

I wish. Apparently that has been on amazon since the 3rd, so I'm guessing that is just a place holder. Doubt very many people know about that card for it to sell out that quick.

$260 though, so same price but better in everyway than the myst in my eyes.

Okay, didn't know it was on Amazon. I'm relieved to know it was never in stock. I'm hoping for lower prices at other retailers. The fact I can still get a Powercolor for $235 makes me unsure as to whether I want to spend an extra $25 because then we're getting close to 7950 prices.

Does this card suffer from the common issues like the sapphire hd7870 does? I have to be 100% sure before purchasing another sapphire card.

I hope not. My guess would be no, because it is a cut down 7950 Tahiti chip/board. This is one of those things where only time will tell, since we have only 1 review of the card.

Since this is a cut down 7950, it will not crossfire with another 7870. They really should of called this card a 7910 or 7930.
