I know for me, the cost has to do with a large portion of the "disappointment" factor as of late. Even though I'm making a ton more money now than I was in the 1980s when I first got into computers, when I pay $50 or $60 or even $120 for a game today and it blows, I am a LOT more disappointed with the game then when I was paying $15 or $20 way back when.

Yeah, a bad game is a bad game, but there is something psychological about a dollar amount (even when you are making 3 or 5 times as much money now) when the game sucks.

I saw this earlier on V, I'm hoping for it to be false or at least not persude. What's next? Will my vita have specially activated memory cards? Only work with my Sony account and vita?

I highly doubt economics is your profession when you're hypocrisy makes you look like a 2 year old, There is no differance between a used game and a used car, aside from the fact that one is yknow 200 times larger, They are both liable to the same regulations when it comes to used sales and both go through pretty much the same process

CREATORS AND DEVELOPERS AND MANUFACTORERS ONLY GET MONEY FROM THE FIRST SALE FOR ANY ITEM MADE ON THE PLANET, UNLESS THEY THEMSELVES OWN THE USED ITEM DEALER, Ie a used toyota sales place owned by toyota. (Which is rare btw)

There is no reason at all why a digital item which is more often then not sold on physical media should get any special treatment at all, And if you say its to feed poor devs, A tripple AAA game takes maybe 20million to make, It'll make 500 in the first month.

So when the game is out of production and has disappeared from shelves, there'll be no way to play it? Wow. Granted, there'll probably be unused copies stashed away somewhere by collectors, with ridiculous price tags.

Some games, not all. I got Chiveraly for $9 which is a steal, but I see no resell button.

Why don't they just inforce a online code like battlefield 3. I see nothing wrong with that solution, cash flow still for used games and the stores are still happy. It makes since considering when you purchase a game you buy the license to play it yourself. All these people getting angry about those codes saying "but what if I lend it my friend...??", well your friend did not buy the game and should pay up some ammount, sharing is nice, but when no cash comes in than it's not justifiable.

I'm just explaining REALITY to those who think that making something physical and selling it a second time is in any way the same as copying something intangible (ie software).

I am not saying you are arguing for piracy. I am saying you are for used copies, but against piracy, even though the damage to the devs is the same. Whether you pirate or you buy a used copy, in the end they are only getting money for 1 copy. You can try to justify it to make yourself not feel bad, but it's the reality.

Tell that to all the closed down studios that went bankrupt.

Which is why i'm a huge supporter of the EMU/ROM community. Can you imagine if all of the NES/SNES/etc games were lost to time?

I no longer buy used games anyway, after seeing how most people treat their discs. For me, I either get it digitally, brand new in physical form, or not at all because I don't have the money tongue.gif

At the moment they are selling AC3 for £59.99/$96 USD (£29.99 everywhere else) and FC3 for £49.99/$80 USD (£29.99 everywhere else) in the PS store. I really doubt they are going cut the price if that is what they are asking for now. The PS store purchases aren't even for physical copies, I imagine physical copies are going to be more.
