As for cutting it, I don't think a dremel attachment will suffice if you're talking about a general dremel tool like I think you are. You would probably need one of those tile cutting table saws if you wanted perfectly straight cuts, and glass is not forgiving; if you go crooked on a glass cut, there's no real fudging the lines like if you were using wood for example.

Besides proper cutting tools (assuming you decide to go that route) just Google "Glass hardware" or "Glass standoffs" and you can get an idea of other mounting parts you will probably need.

This sounds like a very very cool idea! If you do decide to do this build I will be the first following your log! smile.gif

I'm99% sure I have a glass cutting tool for the dremel, if not I would buy one. But I think I'll go with acrylic because it will be a lot lighter as well. I'll definetly be doing a build log for this when I get around to it. I'm overseas at the moment so I won't be doing it for about a month.

Green edge acrylic sounds good. I was planning on having a rubber edging around the glass/acrylic so it protects both the case and whatever I put it on from scratching.

Just a design input, stainless steel and glass look amazing together. I'd recommend using machined stainless parts for classy details. smile.gif

As for screws in the glass, you can always find rubber grommets to fit inside the screw holes. You'd just have to drill the holes a bit larger to fit the grommets. You'd also have a lot of extra measuring to do, in order to account for the extra mass/space you've now made between parts as a result of those grommets not fitting flush with the glass.

Thanks, I'm still planning it all out but I might end up using acrylic.

Sounds like a great idea, again, still deciding if I should go with glass or acrylic
