Swiftech to unveil new H220 all-in-one CPU cooler during CES 2013 - Page 2

Why rip off the Corsair naming convention? Swiftech just HAD to put an "H" in front of the name did they? Sounds like deceptive marketing to me, obviously trying to capitalize on the success of Corsair's products. That's a shame, since you wouldn't think Swiftech would have to stoop that low.

Glad to see you've returned to OCN with good news, Gabe! I've been waiting for a product like this.

For the people who don't seem to understand, this is not a closed-loop system like Corsair's Hydro series. It's a waterblock, pump, and radiator, pre-filled.... Completely different.

So what, Corsair owns the letter H now? Like Apple owns the letter i?

H20 is the element of water. H220? get it? They're being more clever than Corsair.

Oh come on man, are you blind? This is an obvious rip-off designed to take advantage of people who will look at the H100, see something next to it labelled H220, and assume it's better because of the bigger number. It's a totally copycat marketing scheme aimed directly at the primary competition. Even a blind fool could see that.

I will for sure be grabbing one of these. I have been looking for a closed loop cooler and I believe this is just the product to get my feet wet on.

As for the haters, get to steppin.

I hope this sees retail availability soon, as Coolermaster showed their Eisberg system of modular liquid coolers as far back as last March, but to my knowledge there has been no retail release. These modular liquid coolers offer the convenience of a sealed liquid cooling system with the flexibility of a custom loop. there is undoubtedly a gap in the enthusiast market for this kind of product.

I might actually care if Corsair ever made anything of their own instead of sourcing everything out.

Lots of companies outsource. You might be very surprised, and disappointed, to find out that a LOT of companies do that nowadays. I agree that it sucks, but in the end, all that matters is a quality product for a fair price. I'd MUCH rather see stuff made locally instead of outsourced to cheap Chinese factories.

Oh I know, I guess what I mean is with Corsair's abilities, their knowledge and support from us, why not go all out and make their own product instead of rebranding.
