Guys, he can't go for intel, he has to use ddr400 ram

think about it this way.

For each clock a P4 or Celeron does 6 calculation, an A64 does 9 and a Core 2 Duo does 12 (aparently)

Right now I feel like the best performance for my dollar would be the Athlon 3700+ option. My only fear is that if I wanted to later upgrade the processor I would have a hard time finding a X2 at a reasonable price for a 939 socket.

Here's another option that would be easier to upgrade to a Allendale or Conroe CPU 6-12 months from now. I would also purchase additional RAM around tax time. Let me know what you think!

the board i have uses 865 chipset aka DDR400 + AGP

its PentiumD 820 + Gigabyte 865 board, also the new F3 bios appearenlty enabled OCing

What's the exact model of your board? Are you trying to sell the combo to me or suggesting that I purchase the same setup as you from an online retailer?
