Do you guys know if you can use these for like a VMware View? Vmware 5.1 Client for Android?

Would be a sick Mini PC or even a Kiosk Mode PC setup

Says for ARM, ya it seems like it would work. These devices run ARM v7. Though search around and see if ARM based tablets run it.

Ya I'm not sure which OS is better for a device like this. On the one hand most all Android applications are written to utilize the limited resources of a phone or tablet. But Ubuntu is a true windowed based desktop OS which is better for big 1080p displays and I believe would support virtual memory. I wonder how many troubles one would run into with open source applications that are ported to ARMv7. I dunno.

I haven't done it myself but there's an active Ubuntu dev community supporting the RK3066 chipset. So it can't be too bad. See the link above.


Though I've heard there are issues with hardware video decoding which hampers XMBC support.
