Bit Fenix prodigy

hi these are the parts that make up my rig. but i have a few questions that i am hoping you guys can answer. first question is about compatibility. i am a first time builder so i am not very sure. does the processor i have chosen work with the mother board i have chosen? same goes for the graphics card memory and hard drive. if you guys have any suggestions feel free to tell me. second question would be regarding the case. first time i saw this case i told myself the very fist pc im going to build shall be held inside this beast. since it only holds mini itx motherboards i am unsure if it can hold the motherboard i have chosen. through your website it says it is a mini itx so i jst wanted to confirm it would you guys if it does fit or not. third question is is about the power supply. the one stated above is a 520 watt psu. is it enough to power my rig?. also can u suggest any alternatives that can fit the bitfenix prodigy case? thats about it for now

ps. feel free to suggest any alternative to any parts as i am also looking for a cheap build biggrin.gif

The motherboard will fit in the Bitfenix and the CPU will work with the motherboard you chose. I'm wondering why would you get a GT640? Why not a GTX 650/660?

What is your budget? It really depends on how much you're willing to spend, and where you're buying these stuff from.

If you are getting a dedicated video card, get an FX-4300 or Core i3 as your CPU. The only reason to use an APU would be for it's amazing onboard graphics, which are still pretty poor compared to something like a 650. Tell us your budget so that we can help you get more out of this build.

Around about $1000 or less. With bitfenix prodigy case locked in as a choice and having no optical drive, os, keyboard, mouse and monitor with the budget

The prodigy? Really? The Silverstone Sugo SG-09 is much better layed out, IMO, and it would give you a much better choice of motherboards.

For that case, I would recommend (all prices are rough estimates):
Core i5 3570k $230
P8Z77i motherboard $190
Radeon 7950 graphics $310
Seasonic M12II 520 watt power supply $80
caviar black 1TB hard drive $105
prodigy $80

The motherboard might be a little overkill, though.

That's about $1000. I hope I didn't forget anything.

you're better off with an i3 and a better gpu. you have no use for an APU if you're not gonna use the igpu that came with it. with 1000bucks you'd expect much better specs too that build is horrible and nowhere near 1000$ hardware is priced differently from where I'm from so I can't make a build for you. however there's a lot of people here in OCN that can help you. stick around for a bit thumb.gif
