But it looks nothing like Meego from what I've seen...unless the demos I saw wanted to only show how similar an experience it was to Android so as not to alienate users??

this is old news but good news. Tizen is the evolution of meego that was acquired by samsung when nokia signed a deal with the devil. It is also headed up by the linux foundation.

I have an N9 with meego and love it. Hopefully samsung did something good with it

Android has already gained a lot of Hype. iOS has always been very popular. Windows Phone 8 will be HUGE when more people buy new PCs with windows 8.

Not a good time to build a new OS in my opinion...

Actually Windows phone 8 isn't bad now and people buying more computers won't make the phone better. It's the app store that lacks, when it gets on ios or android level then Windows phone 8 will be competition.

I think Samsung should make there own OS and stop using Google's Android OS 100%. It would be super great. I will even buy one the phones at full price just to watch Google's Android numbers drop into the whole of death!

Google would pooping bricks thumb.gif

Just imagine Google being stuck with all the stinky manufactures and no Samsung smile.gif

How interesting that they are supporting an "open-source alternative to Android" when they provide no help whatsoever to Android devs working with Samsung devices. They have a history of playing fast and loose with industry standards too.

Still... I'm very curious to see if this develops into something marketable. Co-developing with Intel, with two carriers already on board...
