i7 3770K overclock Gflops/Temp Normal?

Thread Starter
Hi all, moved from a 950, I am not really familar with the new generation of overclocking, and I feel that now method are alot more simple but complicates things because you don't really know what is the cause with overclocking behavior now, where back in the days, one setting leads to a specific outcome. I missed the good oldday.

I just got this set up today and with 4.7Ghz and 1.32V in BOIS I got about 115.xx Gflops in IBT with ram @ 1600. i think my Gflops is a bit on the low side? I read a thread somewhere else that the guy is having low Gflops from bad ram slots, but he is off by 20+Gflops compare to mine is somewhere around 5~7Gflops? Am I just paranoid or where I got it wrong? Am I pushing the envolope? (load@ High 70s, spikes to 80s, idles at low 30s)

Second I am running H100i with SP120 HP in Pull and stock H100i fans in push and my temperature is not as good as I expected or this is just the way it is?

Thanks in advance.

your gflops are fine, dont worrie about it smile.gif
same goes for your 4.7ghz oc, and temps you have, ivy's run hot, but yours look good to me
you could try what kyismaster said, try a remount...
i couldnt even run 4.5ghz without hitting 105C in a few seconds, running ibt smile.gif

First off temps will be too high if you actually test it for 24 hours vs 6 minutes of ibt, your scores seen fine. If you are stable at that voltage you have a prime chip to.delid you will drop 20+ c with a delid and might.get 5GHz at 1.4

Yeah i am still not sure if i should run P95 for extented hours cuz the boarderline temp. I tried a few more runs of ibt n it seems be stable.

Maybe try 2 hours of P95 first?

I am tempted by delid but I have read horrible posts of it went terrible wrong. If 4.7 with 1.32 is truely stable I'm satisfied.

Just wanted to do a quick update.

Up the Vcore by a few notch, and the Gflops increased to 119.x

In the end, if you play around, IBT is a great tool to see if the CPU is really stable.

Read my Thread and look at all the information you'll ever need on delidding lol. thumb.gif Also your stuff is fine no issues really. I just hate seeing those temps on Ivy's lol biggrin.gif

Agreed, but only for quick stability runs really, then I run them pretty thoroughly through folding for a week, if it's stable on that... you wont crash. tongue.gif
