[GG] Razer Orbweaver Mechanical Gaming Keypad Unveiled. (VIDEO) - Page 12

The price is way too high, I'd pay $130 only if I was getting mechanical keys and an LCD like on Logitechs offering, which could be useful in a handful of games.

The LCD on the logitech one is not too bad, I use it for Vent information to see who joined and is talking, which can be useful for when we have some Pugs. Though honestly, I use it for that and then game addon update notifications from the curse client. Other than that, it's not that useful. Maybe, music information, but that's pretty much it.

yeah, if you're using it while you play, it is hard to keep track of the info being displayed. I mostly use it to display framerate/temps info and check it when I need to, I get distracted by always-on-screen fps displays.

My deathadder looks more plain than most office mice. (Also sorta ironic for a R.A.T. user to yell about "look at me devices") That being said I am still not buying one of these because of the I prefer red switches for fast paced games and thats the only type I would use such a pad for.

You have the R.A.T. 9 mouse... rolleyes.gif

Its like yelling "look at me" while you are dressing in all neon orange, doing back flips, juggling, eating a banana and singing the national anthem at the same time. And when you are doing you ask "what??" in an innocent voice when everyone look at you shocked.

So, Please...

I've been using game pads since Belkin released their N50 many years ago and currently use the Belkin/Razer Nostromo Te. I am a gamer and have used the Belkin/Razer game pads to play FPS titles like cod, bf and cs in competitive leagues. The improvement to my game was very noticeable and wouldn't play without it now

I was very excited when I heard Razer where going to release a mechanical version and have been waiting for details - but now I am just really disappointed tbh.

I can live with the high price of the Razer Orbweaver, but one thing I can not live without is the thumb button.

The one key that is very important to me as an FPS gamer is the jump button, and since the introduction of the N50 back in 2001, I have used the thumb button as my jump button. But with this new Razer Orbweaver, they have removed the thumb button all together - a stupid move if they wanted those who own their Nostromo to buy it. Having used the thumb button as jump for well over a decade in competitive gaming, it isn't a simple thing to change now.

As there is no simple fix for the thumb button, I will continue to use the Nostromo until another product is released that is better (or until the Nostromo is no longer sold).

These Key Pad are extremely useful for other software other then games.. I LOVE my G13, I only wish Logitech made a Mechanical Version of it.. hell i'm even thinking of taking the plunge and try to attempt to convert mine lol.. I like that Razer, but it's not enough keys.

The G13 comes in REAL handy working with 3D software, you can have hot keys more easily accessible VS the stock hotkey layouts these softwares normally come with.. I swear some of the layouts are just atrocious.. It also makes it easy to learn new software when you can program tools that have similar functions to the keys your used to.
