Bottom line: No thank you.

They're used for MMO games like World of Warcraft where having lots of buttons that you can use on one hand is incredibly useful.

I would not say their gear is "chinese crap".

None of the razer gear I have feels "crap". The mice are very solid, and the keyboards feel good and are well built. Drivers is another story all together. But I also have sometimes strange issues with the G13 drivers so...

And microsoft, logitech, corsair and others, also maufacture peripherals in china. So adding "chinese"...

I would love one of these... just not at $130. It's a cool product for sure. The math just doesn't seem to add up when this essentially "partial keyboard" costs as much as or even more than a full mechanical keyboard. It has to be pulling a much higher profit margin than some of their other products.

I've had my Black Widow and Naga for a year now. They work just as good now as they did on day one, and look the same too.

Yea... I have the new Deathadder 2013, and it feels great. While I think their orbweaver is greatly overpriced, it doesn't make it a bad peripheral. I wouldn't trust the one from Saitek either... how is their 1 KRO working for ya? I had the Eclipse II and I couldn't hold shift + A or D. Didn't work. lol

( Architectural drafter )
With my nostromo, unless i'm trying an email or a google search, I never have to touch the keyboard ( hands are always on the nostromo and my naga )
Price - Insane. For that amount, I would much rather buy another monitor, an SSD, a new GPU ( office computers are pretty old ), pay my taxes, a very nice high end mechanical board, two cheaper mech keyboards, two nostromos, etc. The most I would pay for this item is $100, and that's only if my nostromo broke, Maybe if I can find it on a store shelf i'll try it for a few days, and return it. ( which i often do with items like this ) the way i see it, if I miss it, i'll go back and buy it, if not, i don't really need it.
Design - I like the additional keys, mechanical is nice ( not sure how annoying it may be in an office setting ) its weight is just under a half a pound, I feel like the original nostromo was way too light, and before I added weight to it, it slid around my desk quite often. I still think that will be a problem with this model. For the price, I would fully expect an option to change the led color, like the naga epic
Worries - Synapse, enough said. No thumb spacebar button, no scroll wheel, the adjustment locks looked weak in the animation video. Extra row of keys may be hard to reach for smaller hands.
Other thoughts - you need a wide desk to fit this, a razer keyboard, and their mouse and mouse pads all in one set up.

I just received mine today and I just wanted to let you know since you use the nostromo daily that it is overpriced but anyone who liked the nostromo will love this. It feels amazing in your hand. It is covered in a nice grippy rubber, that reduces sweat quite a bit. It is light but the grips they use underneath work great. It doesn't slip or slide a bit, it stays in place nicely. No option to change color, which is ridiculous IMO, but I can overlook that. It does have the thumb spacebar, it just doesn't look like it, but its there, and its mechanical also. Along with the 8 way directional pad and the "Alt" button above it. No scroll wheel, which I never used on the nostromo anyways. The lock adjustments work well actually. You can adjust it to fit your hand perfectly. I just keep the palm pivot loose, so it moves freely with my hand, so when reaching for the top row it moves along with my hand. Which feel so nice btw. The extra keys aren't hard to reach because you can fully adjust it so there's no problem in that area.
As for the size, its basicly the same size as the nostromo, just slightly slimmer both height and width wise.
Overall this is just a huge upgrade to the nostromo. It it the same idea just so much better.

You sir, just won the internet. Excellent first post.

This guy gets it.

I can afford this device, I won't purchase because I don't see the value. However, I can totally appreciate those that have the money to blow on such things biggrin.gif

Good mini review. I remember while using my original n52 that the space bar caused my hand to outstretch so much, I ended up having to use the circular mouse-like button (orange button on the n52) in place of it. Is it any better on this?
