Is this rig worth it?

Intel® Core™2 Duo desktop processor E6300; Intel® Viiv™ technology; DL DVD±RW/CD-RW drive; 250GB hard drive; 2GB PC4200 DDR2 memory; Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005; 9-in-1 digital media manager; PNY Verto GeForce 7900 GS 256MB PCI Express Graphics Card = $1,000. This would bust out all of my games like nothing, AND I could run Vista steady on it later, but I want to know, can I do better?

Hmm.. That's a very good system. If you built one yourself, I reckon you could upgrade that 7900GS to a GT, and possibly get an E6400, although the 6300's are alright

That's a great system for $1000. Go for it.

Well it is $700 at Bestbuy for all but the Video card, I added that for $200, then the extra $100 is for Tax and maybe a Saitek Eclipse keyboard.

I'd say get at least PC2 5400 for better overclocking headroom.

Nah, that's the only downside, but I will save a lot of money. The $200-$300 that I save will be worth the non-overclocking.

I think we might be able to build that same rig for the same price maybe a lil cheaper.
