I hear ya! It's the little details that make it so special!
I think that if I use sandpaper, I might be sanding until christmas! lol! I think I gotta take about 1/2 inch off of that right side to even it out.
Okay, I will try it with my mouse sander. (Like I would have a belt sander...I don't even know what that is! hehe) Gotta wait till the weekend, and work on it outside in the daylight!
Thanks everyone for your support!
Today's project was the face for the front of the case. I had previously built an amature out of cardboard and newpaper and masking tape. I did three-four layers of traditional paper strips and wallpaper glue.
In order to speed the process up, and to ensure a nice smooth finish, today I covered it all with a layer of paper clay.
It turned out good!
Took a few pix, cleaned up the table, put everything away, got ready to do a little post...and then it happened...
Can you see the mistake?
Yep, forgot to put the bow on! Uggg!
So back I went, got all the supplies out, and proceeded to get the bow on before the face started to dry out.
This time I'm gonna put a sheet of damp paper towel over it and see if it will help to prevent cracks when drying. Will let you know how it all works out in a few days. Not much room for error with this; I will have to have lots of restrain when I do the final sanding.
