Who are the "powers" exactly?

the "big pharma company"?

Its not centralized..there are 50+ pharmaceutical companies.. each of them care about profit and would love to screw their competition over..

cancer cures would bring in large amounts of profit and would kill the competition. All this conspiracy talk about "they wouldnt allow it", the "powers" wouldnt allow it...

what powers? its not centralized at all, theres pharma companies in china...you guys are delusional, with your little illuminati conspiracies..

you really think a group of humans can get along together? without conflict of interest

you cant even get along with your neighbors...

you guys fight over amd vs intel for crying out loud

Nah I'm just a realist. You got companies like Apple that have no moral issue paying of judges and officials to get a little persuasion in their favor. I know what greed does to people. Money talks, and in this country, it's really the only thing that matters. Ignorance is bliss and people would rather hide their head under a carpet than see what's really going on. I wish I lived in a world where people would take peoples health before money but it's simply not that. In order for a drug to be legal here, it's going to have to go through the FDA. You have to really naive if you don't think CEO's are going to be pushing a some pretty coin to the FDA to keep a drug to off the market that could cost them millions in expensive cancer treatment. Ya a drug will be profitable but only for so long. As long as cancer is running wild, millions of Americans are suffering and spending thousands of dollars they don't even have just in hopes to keep living.

Its a paradox thats built into our economy that you should be well aware of if you are into economics on any level. You have to create problems to create profit.

Who CARES!!! Lives are more important than their fancy cars and stupid boats.

Un-friggen-believable some of you guys..........rolleyes.gif

Actually, there are many things that are worse than death.
(And no, I'm being completely serious. I've lost family and friends to cancer, and I've seen things first hand that are way worse than death.)
This +1. Death is easy, dying is the hard part along with the suffering that comes along with it.

I have my doubts about this new "finding" as I hear about all kinds of cures on this website and yet I never hear about them as the years pass by. I remember reading they had a cure for AIDS on here and that electric cars were taking over.

Maybe in 50 years.

Dont worry well just give the tree cancer.

Not very funny......

Ugh, all the references to I Am Legend with 'zombies'... they weren't zombies frown.gif

I'm inclined to side with those saying this won't come to pass though. This is too much money in treatment for a cure to make its way to market easily. The overpopulation side is also a logical reason to have it not come to pass any time soon. We're already quite overpopulated with the 'rampant disease' already prsent... so we must not be doing too bad huh? In 100-200 years when we're feasibly and effectively populating non-Earth bound locations (other planets, space stations, etc), MAYBE a cure for some cancers and HIV would be acceptable. Not now though. If cycles are to be taken into account, we're due for another major war here soon too. Population control at humanities finest right there. I'm not an advocate of this, but just looking at it rationally, I guess you could say cancer, disease, etc are 'necessary evils' for the survival of the whole.

No one ever said the world or life was fair. My Mom has breast cancer, and cancer runs heavily in my family... i'll probably get it down the road. So be it.

Dr. Burzynski, all I am going to say. His story is amazing, almost as amazing at how inept our Government is.......

Look him up sometime, you won't find this story to be so amazing after you do. Not to say this story isn't good news, it just isn't as ground breaking as they are making it out to be.
