Some Hi-Res pictures of those of you with the 8800GTX's - Page 2

I made a few videos that have just as good, if not better graphics than the 8800GTX. http://www.overclock.net/pc-games/13...on-videos.html

Here's HL2:E1.

E6400 @3.52
8800GTX @ stock

Gameplay:

With these settings:

This game seems to be the one that puts the greatest load on my hardware...

Destruction never looked so beautiful.

P.S. fps gets up to 210, but they mostly stay between 145-185. It really depends on the lighting. For example, during the portions in Low-Life where lights are flickering the fps drop to 145

I though half life was one of the most optimized games out there. So thats gota be your only game you have if thats the most hardware intensive game you got...
taht sux....I get the same w/ my 7900..

I dont think you will able to see any terrific performance advantage until dx10 is released. 8800's have a completly differnt architecture to their GPU, and that would actually limit its performance on older non-compatable software.

Granted you own a Ferrari...you just "play" or race w/ 5 catalytic converters on your engine......

i dont have pics up yet, but with fear multiplayer, i get around 120fps average with peaks around 180 and valleys around 50. thats with all graphics/pc settings at max. im running a 1280x1024 res as well.

Yeah... don't have too many. Never did play Oblivion much, and not on this card. I understand that it would bring any system to it's knees. Got any recommendations?

CL3P20,

Wow! You get the same scores w/ a 7900? My previous card was a 7900GT KO that I volt-modded and OC'd to 680 / 1680 And the same screen was around 85 fps....

...maybe you are joking...

If you think thats hot, you need to run windows 64 so you can play HL2 in native 64 bit. I think you'd flip out

I'm not very saavy, but I understand that there are some issues w/ 64? Can you kick me in the right direction for some more info? I will try most anything once...

I really wanna flip out!

Wouldn't catalytic converters just rob airflow? I'm pretty sure that racers usually take off their catalytic convertor for optimum performance... I see no need in using 5 at any rate...
