Can someone help?

The welcome screen or w/e comes up with my username, but I can't use my keyboard for 5-10 seconds.

The keyboard lights don't turn on until 5-10 seconds, so its not usable for 5-10 seconds.

PLEASE HELP ME frown.gif

What keyboard? Some gaming keyboards have some type of system to initialize on boot. A friend of mine had this with some older Logitech. Took about 13-15 seconds before the keyboard worked. He checked another keyboard and everything was fine.

If it's not the keyboard then it coul'd be some Win problem. Windows starts services before you log in. Maybe some service hangs.

I have a gigabyte gk osmium mechanical keyboard.

when the pc starts, the lights turn on during BIOS screen, but then turn off again, then turn on again when the login screen appears.

Just got a gigabyte osmium kb myself. Same issue, can't enter bios on boot. Had to use a different keyboard and entering bios worked fine. Have to figure if there is away around this without always connecting different kb for bios.

Have you tried the latest drivers for that keyboard? Any configuration needed? Check Device Manage for problem devices, and the Windows Event Log for clues.

New Windows installations can have keyboard issues if it cannot supply a driver, or the generic driver is not good enough. But once the keyboards specific driver is installed, it ought to work in the BIOS. If not, sounds like a driver bug by Gigabyte.

Drivers for windows are not loaded at the bios boot level, that is purely a recognition at the motherboard level before windows even begins to load or start. Anyway, it appears the response about gaming keyboards and delay times is a logical explanation as to why Gigabyte Osmium keyboard won't work during the time the bios is loading. I think the only way this keyboard will work with my motherboard at the bios level is if I could pause/delay the bios boot load screen to give the Osmium time to wake up.

Maybe try USB 3.0? Can't hurt..
