Wait, if I'm reading this correctly then the warranty isn't transferable...right?

It is, read it again

For original owners without a valid invoice and users that have not purchased the product from an authorized reseller, the warranty period is 3 years from the date that the product was shipped from EVGA's warehouse.
You could say that the OP is not an authorised reseller yes?

You could be either of those purchasing second hand. Unless the original owner registered the serial number under his name in which case you might need some help from him to make a warranty claim?

Where is the EVGA rep, someone link him in?

Hey mate, thanks for clarifying this thumb.gif

RyanMicah, it's my pleasure to have looked it up for you. I can tell you I am 100% certain that the warranty is transferable; I wouldn't have said so in the OP if I wasn't.

However, so that you can be just as confident, I would recommend that you give EVGA a quick call and have them give you the final answer. They are very friendly and quick to answer the phone. I would also be more than happy to provide you with the serial # of my card so you can see exactly how much time is left on warranty. I am 100% certain that they will confirm that the GPU is eligible for guest RMA for 2 years and 9+ months.

Let me know if I can answer any more questions friend thumb.gif

I get it now. So it's a 3 year warranty for anyone from the date that EVGA shipped it. So what was that date because it could have sat on a shelf for 2.5 years...

Let it be known I'm not trying to rip on your thread, but I'm just trying to clarify. I think a lot of younger people get screwed by thinking that used items have warranties when they don't so I'm just trying to figure out what's left on the warranty. It's just like buying a certified pre-owned almost new car from the dealer.

Well, two things:

1) The GTX 690 was released in May 2012. So it could NOT have sat on a shelf before then. So if a buyer had purchased the card at release, at worst the card would be about 8.5 months old. Therefore, it would still have 2+ years warranty, worst-case scenario.

2) More importantly, warranty starts on the day of PURCHASE, not manufacturing.

Now if your question is when did I purchase this card, I looked it up for you. I purchased it on 11/18/2012 and registered it 11/21/2012. Therefore, the warranty on this product exists until 11/18/2015. Since July 1st 2011, EVGA warranties their cards by serial #, not by buyer. Bottom line is that the card will be under guest RMA warranty no matter who is in possession of it until 11/18/2015.

I've been wanting to trade my 2 EVGA 680's for a 690, due to me moving to a smaller case. And the 690 looks awesome. Good luck with your sell.

I wish I could entertain trades, but unfortunately this isn't possible for me at this point. I wish you the best of luck in finding what you are looking for.
