Taking Monitor To 1600x1200 resolution

Thread Starter
I have a 17 inch Syncmaster from Samsung, and I was wondering if i could take to a higher resolution. Right now its at 1280 x 1024..but i want to put it higher. I have never tried it, and i can't find the option to set where it tries the resolution, and then if you don't see anything it goes back :S..

Can I Put it to 1600. 1200?, or some other higher resolution?

Maybe, maybe not. Mine can do 1920x1440, but it's not advertised. Some monitors can't do above their rated res.

Ok. If it's an LCD. Simple. You can't.

If it's a CRT...just set it in the normal settings. if it doesn't work just wait 15 seconds and it'll reset.
