[Anandtech] Asus Announces ROG ARES II Video Card: Dual Radeon HD 7970GE On A Single Card - Page 20

I guess I'm not allowed to give a review on my 3500 dollar tv as well since I didn't assemble it. Strong logic you have there buddy. Jokes on me I guess.

Let's see what happened here:

You claimed a 690 will stomp all over this particular card in BF3.
People brought up actual reviews that counters your claim.
You call them fanboys and that they're wrong, and that they shouldn't be comparing a 7970 ghz edition with a 680. However, this card uses the 7970 ghz edition GPUs, and your original claim was that the 690 would beat this dual 7970 ghz edition card. You also tried to discount other posts by saying that they're from nonreputable sources, etc.
People brought up 7970 crossfire vs 680 sli configurations, and said the 680 sli will be superior to the 690. There 680 SLI configuration was superior, but you then claimed it was a "negligible difference." The difference between the 7970 and 680 were close to negligible as well.
You then tried to back out, but not once did you admit that you were wrong. And let's not go into overclocks, that was covered well enough.

See, it wasn't a matter of opinion. It was a matter of fact, and factually, you were wrong, and refused to admit it.

Anyways, back on topic, I would love to own one of these cards, but only if someone made a custom block for it (and preferably not EK). Not to mention I don't have the money to own one of these.

Anyone with sense though can get 3 or maybe even 4 7970s for the price of one of these cards.

Granted, his original point was flawed because it was based on old data (prior to the 12.11 driver the 680 was slightly ahead of the 7970, following that logic the 690 might be slightly ahead or a dual 7970 card). Refute his claims with some benchmarks or proof, don't attack the way he chooses to have his machine assembled like children.

We did. Like 8 times. He was still persistent so...

I'm not denying he was wrong, its just the level of argument devolved pretty fast for this site. He was pretty much courteous while being wrong biggrin.gif

Asus only made 1000 units. I'm guessing each card will be numbered.

you can't because it s dual gpu. max would be two of these in crossfire anyway. that 's not counting that if you can find four of these your lucky . and you can add that it would be pointless , each card would be on a 4x pcie slot and a single cpu could never feed 4 of these .
