What would you want in a CaseLabs Mini-ITX case? - Page 5

I have to admit I don't like having the view of the motherboard blocked by a PSU though. If you have cool hardware you want to show it off biggrin.gif

PLEASE dont put the PSU over the motherboard, that is my biggest gripe in cases like this. Since I think the case labs edition will be a little bigger than most ITX cases, I hope there is a way to work around this. I want to show off the watercooling components biggrin.gif I like the idea of choosing either using space for a radiator and pump or alternately a bunch of hard drives. Increases flexibility Personally, I like the design of the now defunct danger den case, LAN tower 450? Room for 240 in front, PSU on bottom. Make room for another 240 on top and an HD cage between the front rad and PSU and bam. Yes, I know there is only an SFX psu in this model but im sure the case labs version would find a way smile.gif

I agree completely. Why have all that really cool gear if you don't at least have an option to see. I completely changed the layout this morning and am really liking it. The original idea was too much like our other cases and too big. This one has a much smaller foot print but can still pack quite a "sting" biggrin.gif

I think the biggest thing with mini-ITX cases is the size.....mini-ITX is the format- I really don't understand why someone would want an -miniITX mobo but have like two 360mm rads or whatever- just get a ATX case or perhaps mATX and work with that. Then again I guess it depends on the individual- some people love the Prodigy others hate it like me because it's just too big for mini ITX. SIZE is the KEY

Support for a 120/140mm AIO water cooling system would be a plus.

Either way- I am looking forward to it and glad to see you guys are asking the community for what we want thumb.gif

Perhaps two versions:
1)A bigger one that can handle watercooling.
2)A smaller one that can be integrated somehow in an existing caselabs case. (Where you allready have multiple PSU support, multiple hdd support, and things like that) This one otta have just 2 expansions slots.

What I'm looking at right now is roughly the size of the Prodigy (smaller footprint - different layout) but with a little more "kick" wink.gif

Caselabs just nailed it right. I look forward to seeing the MITX prototype. If I like it then I will buy it! From this point as I no longer need the ATX form or bigger one, ITX is the right stuff. Please do something like if you could put extra slot beside the two slots for GPU cos I need sound card installed in the ITX case to free up the deskspace.
Horizontal MB tray, stop worrying about water cooling, it's ITX MB, so having anything over dual 120mm Rad support is not needed. Make it so you can put 12-15 or more hard drives in it for a home server. Material wise, yeah aluminum is nice for the weight, but it isn't necessary. You may find it necesaary to design two, one for the extreme gamers and one for the NAS/Server crowd.
