What would you want in a CaseLabs Mini-ITX case? - Page 8

I want it similar to Prodigy in size, aluminum, with room for PSU. And I don't mind paying $250 for it.

It would be cool to see a pedestal with an mITX mobo tray and mount for like a 1U power supply or something. I/O plate and PSU outlet on the back, with the flexbay in the front. Not sure about dimensions but maybe there would be room still for a rad along the side for watercooling.

Or a scaled-down Merlin style case, like SM3 or something, 2 or 3x 120mm on top or bottom (one psu mount) and 6 front bays to suit a 240mm radiator.

On another note, finally got my SM8 machine together, sooooooooo much better than the mountainmods I was using before smile.gif

NO Pedestal please.

I'll add my thoughts: I completely agree with a modular design, in that if you don't want a hhd/ssd cage on it, you can remove it to make it smaller. I would love support for a 240rad, like h100 or custom loop. That being said, with custom loops people are going to want to show it off so there must be an option with a window. Option for a handle on top would be welcome too.

Also, when would this come to market? I'm planning on a mini-itx build. Thanks! thumb.gif

I agree with everyone, I would prefer an aluminum case. No steel. I would pay 250 for this case. I mean, I paid 550 for the M8 and I would do it again. The case is worth every penny. I would project the mitx case to be in the 250 range. But I would rather have the extra cost of the aluminum over the steel.

Im guessing it won't come to market for a while. They are looking at ideas for the case now.

Don't forget to make slot loading DVD/blu ray drive for this case.

I'm curious. Why would offering a pedestal be a problem? No one would have to buy it.

Haha. That's kind of the idea. At the end of the day, production still rules. As much as I love our cases, they are a niche business and could not stand on their own (but they're getting close). That is true for the other small case manufacturers as well. That's why so many people fail when they try to get into this business. If you don't already have a production facility available, it's nearly impossible to succeed. We're prepared to commit a lot more production capacity to cases, but we'll need to "grow the base".
