Or a scaled-down Merlin style case, like SM3 or something, 2 or 3x 120mm on top or bottom (one psu mount) and 6 front bays to suit a 240mm radiator.

On another note, finally got my SM8 machine together, sooooooooo much better than the mountainmods I was using before smile.gif

In theory, we could scale down the Merlin platform to an S2/3 configuration, but it would be hard to pull a lot of cost out of it. It's a complex design for M-ITX. It would allow for a 280+240 though or 10 HDD bays.

Interesting - this is what I thought you would do except without the removable tray. I do like the expandable option though where the main compartment is for air coolers with 2 flexbays and then you can add top and bottom mini pedestals for radiators. This would get pricey quickly though for watercoolers.

That's my concern about it. Cost would get kind of crazy. I'm sure we'd sell a handful of them, but I think they would have pretty limited appeal due to cost.

True there would be a smaller amount of people buying the cases, but there are a lot of people on here that want that case. I am waiting to build my system until this case comes out. The sooner the case comes out the better! smile.gif

I would like to see an accessory mount for an itx motherboard plate for the PSU side of some of the large cases. Currently a motherboard base plate that could attach to two device mounts (MAC212) that were on the inside of the case (above and below the middle fan on a M/TH10), but only on the inner sides.

Honestly cost isn't why people go mITX. It's more expensive than mATX for a start just in terms of the motherboards. Also you're still going to be more expensive than the mass produced cases and if you make it too cheep, skimp on too many features and build quality, you start loosing why someone would go with the Case Labs case over, lets say, the Bitfenix Prodigy. The reason people go mITX is more about on keeping the size and weight down. I'd go for more of the 'ultimate LAN party case' angle since I'm sure there are enough people that will want to show off a mini build with tonnes of rad and super clean cable management that a case labs case could offer.
